EXHIBITION ON THE MOTIVES OF THE NOVELLE DINA RUBY RUBBER “WINDOWS”
March 3 at the Sheremetev Palace - Museum of Music will open an exhibition based on the collection of short stories "Windows". The exhibition project develops the idea of synthesizing the prose of the writer Dina Rubina and the paintings of her husband, artist Boris Karafyolov.
“The window is the most poetic metaphor of our aspiration to the world, the temptation to take possession of this world and at the same time the possibility of escaping from it,” writes Dina Rubina, “Boris and I conceived a strange joint book where window covers in his paintings smoothly entered would be in book binding, and the crosspiece of the subframe would serve as an image of a reliable crosspiece of the plot window. ”
The Art Holding Tatyana Nikitina Gallery expanded the boundaries of the theme by including the works of Salvador Dali, Marc Chagall, Hans Bellmer, Giorgio de Chirico, Alexander Baturin, Andrei Gennadiev, Uri Dushi, Anatoly Zaslavsky, Valery Lucca, Aron Zinshtein, Bella Matveeva, Geli Pisareva, Zhorez Machado.
Pictures themselves, sculptures, graphics - these are “windows” in the artistic worlds of their authors. However, the concept of the exhibition is not limited to a detached look into the "world of the artist." The exposition, which develops the theme of the synthesis of literature and fine art, is filled with fragments from texts, quotes, short stories. Simple stories, peeped in “windows” or from “windows”, embodied in short stories or paintings, will lead in an eternal story, telling about fate, love, soul, the search for happiness - about everything that makes up human life.
The exhibition will feature more than 70 paintings, drawings and sculptures by 26 artists from Russia, the USA, Israel, Canada, Spain and other countries.
“A man is born, matures, grows into this world, grows into it
soul, and fate, and the sweet pain of love. And then he leaves.
Let us submit to this circle. ”
(Dina Rubina)
